About White Gold Engagement Rings
White gold gives a ring a bright, cool white finish that suits colorless diamonds. Every ring here is made in 14k white gold: gold alloyed with white metals and finished with rhodium plating for its mirror-like white. Choose a lab-grown or natural center diamond from 1 to 4.5 carats with an IGI or GIA report; each ring is made to order in our Chicago studio in about 4 to 6 weeks.

White Gold Questions
Does white gold need re-plating?
Yes. White gold gets its bright white finish from a rhodium plating that wears with daily use, so most rings are re-plated by a jeweler every one to two years. A slightly warm tone is the sign that the plating is wearing thin.
Is white gold or platinum better for an engagement ring?
Both look white. White gold costs less and is lighter on the hand; platinum is naturally white, denser and never needs re-plating. Every ring here is also offered in platinum.
Can I see a ring in another metal?
Yes. Every ring here is also made in 14k or 18k yellow gold, 14k or 18k rose gold and platinum: choose the metal on the ring’s page and the photos change to match.
